Today, people around the country are speaking out using #TheseCutsHurt on social media to raise awareness about how proposed budget cuts will hurt their families, children, communities, and this country as a whole.

Today, Derek is dropping off boxes of supplies to the Red Cross destined for hurricane relief efforts in Texas and Puerto Rico. Hundreds of items were collected from the dozens of local food pantries that The Coalition supports through our Victory In Partnership or “VIP” Program.
Moments ago, the House of Representatives passed the 2018 budget resolution by a count of 219-206. This resolution would strip billions of dollars from vital programs that help families make ends meet and strengthen communities. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly food stamps), will be among those most deeply cut if the Senate follows suit with a total disregard for working families who struggle put food on the table.
