The Philadelphia Eagles season got underway last night but perhaps their best moment on the field came before the game.

Prior to kickoff, The Eagles and ACME Markets announced that they raised 99,351 pounds of healthy food this April through their Teaming Up to Kick Hunger campaign to benefit local food pantries

This marked the third year of the in-store campaign, which has now raised more than 400,000 pounds of food in total to help kick hunger.

Good Food For All!

"We strive to build a community where all people have the food they need to lead healthy lives."

If you are reading this and follow our work, you are probably familiar with this sentence. It is a key piece of our mission statement but could also be used to describe the second annual Good Food For All Conference, held on May 12.

By Secretary Ted Dallas

On September 29, 2015, Governor Wolf signed Executive Order 2015-12, which created the Governor's Food Security Partnership, established to promote coordination, communication, and joint planning between government organizations to better reach those who are at the highest risk for hunger.

On the same day, the governor brought together leaders from non-profit anti-hunger organizations, the food industry, and government to discuss food security in Pennsylvania.

Teaming Up to Kick Hunger

Acme and the Philadelphia Eagles are partnering for the third annual Teaming Up to Kick Hunger campaign to benefit the Coalition! The campaign kicked off at the Thomas' Walk Against Hunger and will run through May 5th.

Shoppers in local Acme stores can purchase a $10 bag of healthy groceries which will be donated to the Coalition's two Green Light Pantries in Philadelphia which provide only nutritious food to those in need.
